Laser Cutting

Allied Steel's laser cutting division provides a level of detail that is vastly superior to other cutting services such as plasma or water jet cutting. Furthermore, in 2019 we upgraded our laser to a Trumpf 3030, which uses a focused beam of light delivered by fiber optics to provide the industry best in precision, cost reduction, and speed, all in sheet metal up to 1" thick!

With such vast laser services under our own roof, we provide customers with more responsive turn-around time and in-house quality control. These factors ultimately provide customers with a superior product at a competitive price, delivered on time. This eliminates many problems associated with third party outsourcing.

Let a trusted name like Allied Steel take care of your laser cutting needs. Contact us for a quote, or click here to view our full laser cutting capabilities.

Cupcake Riser Project

This branch stand was custom designed to hold cupcakes at a wedding. It was formed from cold rolled round bar and cold rolled sheet metal.

Hexagon Risers Project

These risers start out with laser cutting 12ga cold roll sheet metal. After the parts are cut, the sides and base get formed to size. The risers are then tacked together and MIG welded out. All of the welds are then ground flush to make the entire unit look as if it was never welded. Once the grinding is complete the entire unit gets DA’d with an orbital finish. These risers are then finished with a proprietary powder coat that mimics blackened cold roll steel.

Short Table Project

These tables started out by having two 16ga cold roll sheet metal tops made at a local metal spinning company. There they spin a 24” & 36” pan with a 1” lip and 1/4" hemmed edge. The hemmed edge adds strength and also improves the appearance. The main frame is made out of 1/2" cold roll round bar and TIG welded to keep the welds as discrete as possible. These are then powder coated with a white finish.

Octogon Table Project

This table starts with laser cutting 5/16” hot roll steel plate. The table legs are then formed to size using roughly 20 tons of pressure in a press brake. They are then MIG welded to the underside of the table top. Each leg gets 2 nylon leveling glides to keep the table stable and also help support its weight of almost 375 pounds. This table can be powder coated in an array of colors.

Pipe Table Project

Each table is made from roughly 100 pieces of 1” and 1.5” round steel tube that are all cut at various lengths between 6” and 36”. Once the tubes are de-burred and capped, the main supports of the table are placed. After the main supports are welded we let the fabricators use their artistic abilities to fill in the rest of the gaps. The table then gets a powder coated finish.
